PT Sans was created for the project “Public Forms of Russian Federation.” The second family members of the project, PT Serif, is also obtainable.

The fonts are released with a libre license and can be freely redistributed: The main aim on the project will be to give possibility for the persons of Russia to study and write in their native languages.

The project is devoted to the 300 year anniversary in the civil type invented by Peter the Fantastic in 1708-1710. It was given financial assistance from the Russian Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications.

The fonts include normal Western, Central European and Cyrillic code pages, plus the characters of every single title language inside the Russian Federation. This makes them a exclusive and very important tool for modern digital communications.

PT Sans is according to Russian sans serif varieties in the second a part of the 20th century, but simultaneously has distinctive capabilities of contemporary humanistic styles.
